Competition Rules

Based on traditional regulations for the Hovedstadsstevnet and discussions between the cities in preparation for HST 2025, the competition rules for HST 2025 are as follows:

The shooting range at Årvoll has a capacity of 20 targets at 200 meters.

The basic principles follow the ISSF 300m Standard Rifle rules, supplemented by national regulations and the following specific provisions:

· The various shooting events are conducted in 4 relays with 20, 16, 20, and 16 shooters respectively. This ensures that all four shooters from a team can shoot simultaneously in the same relay during Event E. Shooters remain in the same relay throughout the different shooting events.

· A 15-minute preparation time is allowed, including an unlimited number of sighting shots, before Events B, A, and E.

· Event B (10 shots prone) and Event C (¼ match) are shot consecutively. The 10 prone shots from Event B count as the prone portion of the ¼ match. This means that after the 10 prone shots in Event B, shooters continue with 10 shots standing and 10 shots kneeling to complete the ¼ match.

· Shooting times (excluding preparation time) are:

o Event B: 15 minutes

o Event C: 40 minutes (10 standing and 10 kneeling)

o Event E: 10 minutes

o Event A: 60 minutes

o Events L1 and L2: 20 minutes

· For Event D (national program), a 3-minute preparation time is allowed, including unlimited sighting shots. Then:

o 5 shots prone: 2 minutes

o 5 shots standing: 3 minutes

o 5 shots kneeling: 2 minutes

o Unlimited sighting shots: 3 minutes

o 10 shots (3 standing, 3 kneeling, 4 prone): 3 minutes

· For Events A, B, C, E, and L1/L2, loading is done one shot at a time. This means that magazines may only be used to load a single round at a time.

· For Event D, use of a magazine is permitted.

· A sling may also be used for the standing position.

· The kneeling position allows the use of a support block (kneeling roll) and shooters may choose their position freely.

· Shooting clothing and equipment must comply with each country's approved regulations.

· Shooters may use their own shooting mats, but mats will also be provided by the organizer.

· Ranking rules for all events except Event D follow the ISSF rules: Score, inner tens, best last series, second last series, etc. If still tied: best last shot (using whole numbers), next to last shot, etc. If still tied: best last shot (using decimals), next to last shot, etc.

· For Event D, the DFS (Det frivillige Skyttervesen) ranking rules apply: Score, total inner tens, total tens, nines, eights, etc., followed by best last series, second last series (whole numbers).

· For combined competitions (e.g., A+B and A+B+C+D), in the case of identical scores and inner tens, the result from Event A will be ranked first.

· For combinations A+B+C+D and B+C+D, the total number of shots fired will count. This means that for Event C, only the standing and kneeling shots will be included, so the 10 prone shots from Event B are not counted twice (once in Event B and again in Event C).
